YES2009 PART 1: MY YES2009 PREQUEL
I was excited a few months ago when I first registered to win a pass for the coming YES 2oo9. I was excited until I saw the many other entries that was better. I also couldn't upload a video so I knew I had to let this event go. I didn't think much about it until my facebook reminded me about the event few months later because I clicked that I was attending the event. In October, I had the privilege to go to Padang via Air Asia to distribute some stuff to the earthquake victims. This required to register and be a fan of the Air Asia Facebook team.
Air Asia started giving free seats. While browsing for free seats (which I couldn't go through because of the busy server), I was browsing through the Air Asia blog and stumbled upon a last minute 1.5 day contest. This was my chance. It was the light at the end of the tunnel. "What have I got to lose?" I wondered. It was 13/11/2009 morning. The contest ended 13/11/2009 afternoon. Results would be out the next day, 2 days before the event itself.
I opened my email 14th Nov morning, no reply. Sighing I went back to work. 2 hours later, during my break, I went to the Air Asia site. Servers were busy so I went to the blog and lo and behold, the winners were announced. 30 winners were selected from the Air Asia Blog and Twitter. I saw my name at No.9. I was flabbergasted. It was the answer to a forgotten prayer. God knew the desire of my heart even when I forgot about it months back.
Firstly, I would like to thank God remembering my forgotten prayer. Next I would like to thank Air Asia for providing me with the free pass. I had the chance to thank Dato Tony personally. It was indeed an honour to be inspired by world class leaders in their own unique field and surrounded by 2000 youths which were on fire for change. I will certainly fulfill the mandate given to me to spread whatever I have learned to as many people as I can. I have chosen blogging as my medium. Anyone may share my writings to anybody provided the link to the blog is included.
